The National Compact (2010) published on 14 December 2010. This renewed Compact is an agreement between the Coalition Government, and their associated Non-Departmental Public Bodies, Arms Length Bodies and Executive Agencies, and civil society organisations (CSOs) in England. The agreement aims to ensure that the Government and CSOs work effectively in partnership to achieve common goals and outcomes for the benefit of communities and citizens in England.
Compact Voice An independent body representing the voluntary and community sector in taking forward the Compact. It is made up of an autonomous alliance of leading voluntary sector infrastructure organisations with national, regional and local reach, and who together play a representational role in engaging with Government and the Commissioner for the Compact on Compact issues.
National Council for Voluntary Organisations Provides the Compact Advocacy Programme for voluntary and community organisations to ensure government treats the sector fairly. The Programme handles cases for individual organisations when they are having problems with government at a national and local level and also uses its casework to campaign for long-term change.

Office for Civil Society Part of the Cabinet Office, leading work across Government to support voluntary and community groups, social enterprises, charities, cooperatives and mutuals. Areas it covers include: •support for the sector •social enterprise •charity law and regulation •volunteering and giving •the sector's role in public services
Local Government Association A voluntary lobbying organisation, the LGA promotes the interests of English and Welsh local authorities. Its members include county councils, metropolitan district councils, English unitary authorities, London boroughs, shire district councils and Welsh unitary authorities. It also represents fire authorities, police authorities, national park authorities and passenger transport authorities.
